Job Title: QA Engineer SQL & ETL
Location: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania (Onsite/Hybrid)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Overview:
We are looking for a QA Engineer with experience in SQL and ETL testing to ensure our data processes are accurate and reliable. This role will involve validating data flows, performing testing on ETL pipelines, and writing SQL queries to ensure data integrity. The position is onsite or hybrid in the NY, NJ, PA area.
Responsibilities:
ETL Testing: Test and validate ETL processes to ensure data is extracted, transformed, and loaded correctly.
SQL Queries: Write and execute SQL queries to check data consistency and validate transformations.
Automation: Automate data validation tasks when possible.
Collaboration: Work with developers and data engineers to identify and resolve issues.
Reporting: Document and report issues found during testing, and track their resolution.
Performance Testing: Ensure ETL jobs are running efficiently and identify any performance issues.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases and validating data.
Experience testing ETL processes using tools like Informatica, SSIS, or similar.
Familiarity with manual and automated testing.
Ability to troubleshoot data issues and ensure data integrity.
Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience in an Agile environment is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud-based ETL tools (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell scripting) is a plus.
