QA Analyst / QA Engineer

Stormforge is a stylized open-world survival crafting game where players craft, build, fight, and harness epic magical storms to survive.
Responsibilities
• As the first QA hire on a small team, you will be establish our testing strategy to ensure the quality of Stormforge when it goes into Early Access
• Develop test plans for the game covering single player and multiplayer
• Combine exploratory gameplay testing with targeted automated tests where they provide the most value
• Architect, implement and manage testing automations where it makes sense
• Work closely with the engineering team to find and document reproducible bugs in our task tracking system
• Test multiplayer systems including world persistence, synchronization, and edge cases
• Help prioritize issues appropriately for an Early Access launch
• Test core survival gameplay loops including crafting, combat, building systems, and progression
• Provide feedback to the team across all aspects of the game (including design, UI/UX and player experience)
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience with video game QA including QA engineering
• Prior shipped game on PC
• Very comfortable with Unity, Git
• Familiarity with C# for debugging or writing test tools
Nice to Haves
• Experience with CI/CD test pipeline
• Familiarity with AI assisted test development
• Passionate about survival crafting games
• Game design experience is a plus
Contract Details
• Start: March 2026 End: October 2026 (could be extended)
• 30 - 40 hours per week
• Classification: Independent contractor; monthly invoicing; standard work-for-hire/IP assignment
• Rate: based on experience and location; please include your expected hourly rate
• Location: Remote (anywhere, team works on Pacific Time)

• 3rd person action/adventure game built in Unity
