Position Overview
We are hiring a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide remote medication management to a high-volume outpatient population. This position is perfect for an experienced clinician who is comfortable managing dual diagnoses, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and seeks schedule flexibility.
Psychotherapy is not required in this role—our focus is on efficient, high-quality medication management.
Responsibilities
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management
• Manage patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and dual diagnoses
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
• Document encounters and update charts in AthenaOne EHR
• Coordinate care with internal teams (primary care, nutrition, therapy)
• Provide referrals to appropriate services as needed
• Participate in virtual huddles and optional team case reviews
Qualifications
Required:
• Active PMHNP license in Maryland (or in process)
• RN compact license (required for remote practice across states)
• MSN or DNP from an accredited PMHNP program
• Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient psychiatric medication management
• Ability to manage moderate to high patient volume
• Proficient in EHR systems (AthenaOne preferred)
• CPR certification
• Reliable internet and private workspace
Preferred:
• Multi-state licensure
• Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders
• Knowledge of documentation standards for insurance and medical necessity
• Experience serving veterans, Medicaid, or high-acuity populations
Schedule
• Choose 4-, 6-, or 8-hour blocks
• Flexible scheduling: weekdays, evenings, or Saturdays
• No on-call or weekend coverage required
