Position: Proofreader (Part-Time) Job Description Proofreader (Part-Time) – 20 hours per week, onsite is headquarters Monday‑Thursday with option to work from home on Fridays. Candidate must be comfortable in a pet‑friendly environment. Responsibilities include proofreading consumer‑targeted communication materials with a focus on grammar, accuracy, and attention to detail. Responsibilities • Proofread all content generated by the production and digital design group. • Ensure accuracy against original approved copy, proper grammar, and spelling. • Identify variances from conventional treatments on typographic style. • Verify correct size and type specifications, and the correct placement of copy on layout. • Ensure proper use of trademarks and verify coupon codes, expiration dates, ingredient statements, and legal mandates. • Apply current Federal Trade Commission packaging requirements regarding type and symbols. • Ensure all documents are current with industry and legal standards. • Communicate effectively and exercise good judgment when interacting with creative teams, including copywriters, art directors, designers, account managers, and other stakeholders. Essential Skills • Bachelor's degree required; English major preferred. • Over three years of professional experience in proofreading, copywriting, or editing creative content. • Critical knowledge of spelling, editing, and grammar. • Ability to read and process large volumes of content accurately to meet deadlines. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills, with clear and comprehensive record keeping. • Ability to interface effectively with creative and client organizations, including Legal and Regulatory teams. • Knowledge of digital keyline process, Macintosh computers, and word processing programs. • Attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Agency experience preferred. • Experience with process improvement. Work Environment Pet‑friendly office in St. Louis headquarters. Hybrid: onsite Monday‑Thursday, work‑from‑home Friday.
