Proofreader (Icelandic)
We are looking for a Icelandic-speaking Proofreader to support short-term remote assignments for a Services organization based in California. This Contract position offers the opportunity to review written materials for accuracy, readability, and consistency while working independently on time-sensitive projects. The role is ideal for someone with strong language skills who can deliver high-quality documents and maintain high quality standards across each assignment.
Responsibilities:
• Review Icelandic-language documents thoroughly to catch errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
• Refine written content to improve clarity, consistency, and overall readability while preserving the intended meaning.
• Check formatting, terminology, and language usage to ensure each document aligns with project expectations and local language standards.
• Complete assignments within established timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Provide timely updates on progress and raise questions quickly when clarification is needed to avoid delays.
• Handle sensitive materials with discretion throughout the proofreading process.
• At least 1 year of experience in proofreading, editing, or a closely related language-review role.
• Strong Icelandic language skills with the ability to conduct business in Norwegian.
• Strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written communication standards.
• Experience using proofreading or document review skills to produce accurate, high-quality written materials.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and other common digital collaboration tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage short project deadlines effectively.
