Project Lead: Annual Holiday Initiative (Fractional/Contract)
Project Lead: Annual Holiday Initiative (Fractional / Contract)
Location: Remote (May – Oct) / On-site Atlanta, GA (Nov – Dec)
Term: May 4, 2026 – Late December 2026
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00+ per hour (DOE)
The Opportunity
Are you a "scrappy" project leader with a heart for child advocacy? A leading Atlanta-based non-profit is seeking a dedicated Project Overseer to spearhead their most impactful annual initiative: a holiday program providing essential gifts and joy to hundreds of children in the foster care system.
This is a professional, fractional role perfect for a freelance project manager, a retired executive, or a non-profit veteran looking for high-impact, part-time work that scales with the season.
The Work Structure
This role follows a unique "ramp-up" schedule to match the project lifecycle:
• Phase 1 (May – August): ~10–15 hours per month (Fully Remote). Focus on planning and system building.
• Phase 2 (September – October): ~15–25 hours per month (Remote). Focus on donor engagement and coordination.
• Phase 3 (November – December): 40+ hours per month (On-site required). Focus on gift intake, sorting, and volunteer leadership, culminating in a large-scale event on December 5th.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning: Develop and manage the comprehensive project plan, timelines, and deliverables.
• System Architecture: Build and maintain detailed tracking and logistics systems using Google Sheets and shared documents.
• Committee Leadership: Lead bi-monthly virtual meetings and coordinate a committee of staff and board members.
• Donor Coordination: Manage relationships with corporate partners and "adopt-a-child" donors.
• On-Site Execution: Serve as the lead coordinator for gift logistics and supervise volunteer teams during the peak holiday weeks.
Who You Are
• A Low-Maintenance Leader: You thrive with high autonomy. You can take a vision from a CEO and execute it with minimal daily direction.
• Non-Profit Savvy: You understand the nuances of working with volunteers and donors. A background in non-profit development or event management is highly preferred.
• Spreadsheet Pro: You aren’t just a user; you’re a builder. You can organize complex data into clear, actionable trackers.
• High EQ: You remain calm under pressure and can motivate diverse personalities during "crunch time".
• Professional Communicator: You provide clear, proactive updates (including a weekly progress email to leadership).
Why Join Us?
Through Focus People, you will serve as the engine behind a project that directly impacts 400+ children in your community. We handle your payroll and benefits administration, allowing you to focus entirely on the mission.
To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief note highlighting your experience with non-profit logistics or large-scale event coordination.
