Position Overview We are urgently seeking experienced Project Engineers to support capital utility infrastructure projects in Oakland, CA. This role provides engineering leadership across project scoping, design coordination, procurement, scheduling, and construction support. Candidates should bring strong utility, power, or infrastructure project experience and thrive in fast-paced, field-driven environments. Key Responsibilities • Lead and conduct field walkdowns and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, schedules, and cost commitments. • Gather and analyze technical data from field conditions and project teams. • Develop engineering cost estimates and resource plans. • Establish engineering schedules and prepare forecasts; track progress and provide regular updates. • Provide technical guidance to design teams and review drawings and engineering documents for quality, scope, and compliance. • Approve revisions to existing drawings for routine projects. • Support procurement of long-lead materials including vendor drawing reviews, equipment specifications, and material requests. • Lead and participate in design review meetings and cross-discipline coordination efforts. • Provide construction support and resolve field issues through engineering analysis and recommendations. • Perform engineering studies and develop conceptual designs as required. The Successful Applicant Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline). • 7+ years of project engineering experience in utilities, power delivery, infrastructure, or capital projects. • Strong experience with field walkdowns, design coordination, procurement, scheduling, and construction support. • Ability to interpret and review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents. • Experience preparing cost estimates and engineering forecasts. • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple disciplines and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience supporting electric utility projects (transmission, distribution, substations, or power systems). • Experience working in regulated utility environments. • Familiarity with capital project delivery processes and construction management workflows.
