Programmer (HYBRID)
United Direct Solutions is currently seeking a full time Programmer for their Cincinnati, OH facility. The Programmer role will analyze job processing requirements and develop code and/or scripts to eliminate manual job processes, while also performing standard testing of automation to ensure high levels of performance and security. Responsibilities Analyze customer information requests, existing programs, file structures Analyze business requirements for projects of small to medium scope and complexity Assist in designing data models Assist in analyzing environmental requirements, conversion requirements and file structures between systems Interpret business requirements and prepares system design documents for projects Develop and maintain code to implement designs Apply structured programming techniques and adhere to coding standards Use available utilities to simplify tasks Develops and maintains file management modules Apply object-oriented programming principles to design and development efforts in an effort to re-use existing code Conduct and participates in code walkthroughs Develops system and system integration test plans and testing scripts Develop system test data and perform system, parallel, system integration and stress testing tests for projects Assist in coordination of system and system integration testing Assists quality assurance testing teams Provides input to peers, management and customers for recommendations and alternate solutions and/or improvements Conveys problems, solutions, updates and project status to their peers, customers and management Prepare design documentation for the software projects assigned Ensure that the scope and intent of the design architecture is clearly reflected and accounted for in the supporting documentation for the Developers Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned Skills Bachelor's degree in discipline related to functional work or role with up to 3 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the information technology environment/infrastructure utilized for the job Able to apply previous work experience to understand the goals and objectives of the assigned information services area and how the work affects other areas/groups Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written Able to understand general business concepts and apply them when communicating with diverse groups of people when completing work assignments Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume Requires very good ability to effectively analyze and solve moderately difficult work-related problems on a variety of operating platforms Must be able to appropriately define a problem and apply knowledge gained from previous issues and solutions to resolving a current challenge Demonstrate good knowledge of the assigned information technology platform and ability to convey that understanding to others in work teams on projects Benefits Competitive Pay Clean and Climate Controlled Facility Health, Dental and Vision Insurance; Life Insurance; 401(K) Career Development/Mentorship Opportunities Quick and Steady Advancement United Direct Solutions formerly known as United Mail named Best Workplace 2020 by Printing Industries of America United Direct Solutions formerly known as United Mail has 40 Years of Commitment to Employees Company Overview United Direct Solutions offers data-powered direct mail and printing services for personalized marketing campaigns.
