Programmer Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for analyzing and programming applications on the IBMi system in readable and maintainable code, testing and debugging systems, and providing daily support for the Client Service and Operations departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ā Perform analysis, coding and testing using all forms of RPGLE including free form and embedded SQL, CLLE, DDL, and DDS.
Ā Knowledgeable in procedures, sub-procedures, stored procedures and modular programming
Ā Follow standards as outlined in the Programming Standards and Guidelines documentation.
Ā Research problems and questions from Client Service Representatives and Operations personnel.
Ā Perform data conversions for credit unions coming from other processors.
Ā Interface with third-party vendors (ATM processors, insurance companies, credit bureaus, etc.).
Ā Keep up to date on the latest OS version, programming language levels and other industry releases.
Ā Maintain a positive contribution as a member of the Programming Team and complete all tasks assigned by management to meet team objectives.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Ā Four-year degree in business-related, IT or project management field or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent experience would be at least 2-3 years of working experience in programming.
Ā Familiarity with credit union operations, regulations and procedures, accounting and balancing functions preferred but not required.
Ā Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to deal with external clients as well as internal staff.
Ā Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ā Well-versed in RPGLE, CLLE, DDL, SQL, and modular coding.
Ā Knowledge of other computer systems and data storage types.
Ā Basic understanding of communications for use in data transmissions.
Ā Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.
