The NYS Office of General Services is seeking aProfessional Engineer 1 (Environmental) to perform environmental engineering duties. The role involves designing water and wastewater treatment systems, preparing reports, and managing project schedules under the direction of licensed staff. Responsibilities Perform environmental engineering duties including designing water/wastewater treatment systems, distribution systems, onsite disposal systems, etc Prepare reports relating to water/wastewater and other environmental engineering systems, including recommendations for changes in design, construction or operational procedures and practices Prepare environmental drawings and details, specifications, estimates, and/or studies for design projects under the direction of licensed staff Coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction costs estimates, etc., with the other technical disciplines Actively manage the schedule of assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules Review reports, drawings, specifications, and bolthires estimates prepared by design consultants Actively oversee consultant design work for assigned projects Develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress Review shop drawings, respond to contractor Requests for Information, create and/or review Information Bulletins, and provide similar construction administration and observation during the project’s construction Perform a full range of supervisory duties, including reviewing the work of subordinate staff Skills A New York StateProfessional Engineer's license and current registration A qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed in the job description OR one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience One year of full-time experience in sanitary, public health or environmental engineering Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle Company Overview OGS manages and leases real property, designs and builds facilities, contracts for goods, services, and technology, and delivers a wide array of support services.It was founded in 1960, and is headquartered in Albany, New York, US, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
