Production Manager - Night Shift
About the position
The Production Manager at SunOpta is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing department during the night shift, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role requires a strong background in food manufacturing, with a focus on process improvement and regulatory compliance. The manager will coordinate activities related to production planning, employee training, and safety initiatives, while also leading a team of production supervisors and staff.
Responsibilities
ย Direct activities of production including raw material receipt, manufacturing, production scheduling, and shipping.

ย Monitor performance of manufacturing employees and equipment to ensure production meets or exceeds schedules while minimizing waste.

ย Develop weekly, monthly, and annual manufacturing plans and communicate them to subordinates and peers.
,
ย Lead safety initiatives targeting zero recordable injuries and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
,
ย Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure product quality meets requirements and follow up on inspections and audits.
,
ย Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements in manufacturing areas.
,
ย Develop and implement Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures and train employees accordingly.
,
ย Work with management to ensure roles are organized and communicated effectively.
Requirements
ย Bachelor's Degree or related field experience.
,
ย Five plus years of related experience in manufacturing and food industry.
,
ย Strong working knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
Nice-to-haves
ย Beverage and/or aseptic experience.
,
ย Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, TPM, or Six Sigma.
,
ย Experience with Ceridian software.
