Product Underwriting Analyst | Remote

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Underwriting Analyst to support the development, performance monitoring, and enhancement of insurance products across multiple lines of business. This individual will work closely with product management, underwriting, actuarial, claims, IT, marketing, and data teams to evaluate product performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support strategic product initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, well versed in Homeowner Property Underwriting and/or Product Development, solid understanding of products and market dynamics, and the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations. This role will play a key part in supporting product strategy, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring insurance products remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with company growth objectives.

Responsibilities
• Analyze insurance product performance, including profitability, loss ratios, growth trends, and market competitiveness.
• Support the development and enhancement of insurance products through research, data analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Evaluate underwriting and pricing trends to identify opportunities for product optimization and portfolio improvement.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and finance teams to gather insights and support product strategy initiatives.
• Prepare reports and dashboards tracking product performance metrics, including premium growth, retention, and profitability.
• Conduct competitive and market analysis to assess product positioning and identify emerging market opportunities.
• Assist with product filings, regulatory documentation, and compliance-related product updates as needed.
• Identify trends in customer behavior, claims activity, and underwriting performance to inform product decisions.
• Support new product launches, product revisions, and system implementations impacting product design or rating structures.
• Work with technology and data teams to ensure accurate product configuration within policy administration systems.
• Provide analytical support for business cases related to product expansion, pricing adjustments, or new market entry.
• Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on product goals and performance outcomes.

Qualifications
• 4 - 7+ years of experience in Property Underwriting or Product Development
• Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and policy structures.
• Experience analyzing insurance data including premiums, loss ratios, claims trends, and profitability metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and business recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, actuarial, underwriting, and IT.
• Experience working with policy administration systems or insurance data platforms preferred.

Salary & Benefits
• $80,000 – $100,000 + Bonus (depending on experience)
