Product Owner - Terminology Server

As a Product Owner at IMO Health, you will play a critical role in managing the Terminology Server platform, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of clinical code systems and medical terminology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, content specialists, and solution architects—to manage backlogs, and deliver user stories that drive innovation.This role requires hands-on experience with clinical coding systems (e.g., SNOMED, LOINC, ICD), familiarity with medical terminology, and a deep understanding of how healthcare organizations use terminology services. Ideally, you have prior experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, NextGen, or Oracle Health/Cerner—either as an implementation specialist, analyst, or similar role—and have collaborated with engineering teams. We are looking for a fast learner who thrives in an agile environment and can bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the broader product strategy and roadmap, specifically focusing on the Terminology Server platform.Translate business needs into well-defined product requirements, epics, and user stories, ensuring acceptance criteria are clearly defined.Prioritize features and functionality based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility.Work closely with engineering teams to deliver new features, resolve defects, and ensure high-quality product releases tailored for terminology services.Troubleshoot escalated product issues and assist technical service teams in identifying solutions, focusing on API performance and terminology management.Stay updated on Agile/Scrum/SAFe best practices and incorporate them into daily workflows.Provide training and product updates to internal teams and support customer training when necessary.Stay informed about industry trends, particularly in healthcare interoperability, medical terminology, and AI-driven healthcare solutions. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Management, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a clinical or healthcare technology setting.Strong understanding of medical terminologies and clinical code systems (e.g., SNOMED, CPT, LOINC, ICD, RxNorm).Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) (Epic, NextGen, Oracle Health/Cerner) in an implementation, product, or analyst role.Familiarity with API implementations and how terminology content is built and maintained within APIs.Proven experience collaborating with engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about enhancing terminology services while supporting current customer needs.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.A fast learner with a proactive, "doer" mentality.A passion for solving complex problems and driving innovation in the healthcare space. Compensation at IMO Health is determined by job level, role requirements, and each candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
