Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Product Manager, Type 2 Product Sustainment will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of our global medical device products, with a focus on sustaining current products globally and planning for eventual phase-out as appropriate. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and an understanding of regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the medical device industry and a strong background in product lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
Oversee the lifecycle management of existing medical device products, ensuring they meet market needs and regulatory standards.
Develop and execute strategies for sustaining products, including updates, improvements, and support.
Plan and manage the sunsetting process for products, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to customers.
Document sunsetting best practices and lessons learned to inform and accelerate future product sunsets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Life Cycle Engineering, Quality, Post-market, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to address product issues and implement solutions.
Monitor product performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
Maintain product documentation, including product requirements, technical specifications, user manuals, etc.
Provide support to sales and marketing teams with product-related information and training.
Manage product-related risks and develop mitigation plans.
Build and deliver business cases.
Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers to shape messaging for global products.
Collaborate with other Product Managers to establish processes and best practices for Product Management and Product Owners at Insulet.
Create bottom-up planning for annual & strategic plans.
Collaborate on franchise roadmap and priorities in relation to enterprise-wide strategies.

Lead the decision-making process for product updates, improvements, and end-of-life transitions.

5+ years of experience in global product management, preferably product sustainment in the medical device/healthcare industry.
Experience leading end-to-end product management.
