In case, someone lives beyond 25miles from an NECSWS office across the UK, we happy for them to be working remotely. Also, the successful candidate would have to work from the Bracknell office for the initial couple of weeks for training**About the jobThis job is situated within NEC Government which manages a diverse range of products. These products currently include NEC Revenues & Benefits and Citizen Access (online services).As Product Manager you will be a product champion on one or more of these product areas, reporting to the business lead on a day-to-day basis and liaising with senior management with regards to new product areas.What you will be up toAs Product Manager you will be responsible forLiaison and communication with customers (and prospective customers) in respect of your productsProducing a roadmap for your productsUnderstanding the needs of users and wants of the customers for your products so that you can champion them during the delivery phasesWorking across all areas associated with these products: business analysis, development, testing, support, technical authors, and pre-salesYour responsibilities:As Product Manager you will be required to:Understand the current and future needs of our customersEstablish and document the detailed business requirements and/or user journeys for each deliverableSpecify market requirements for current and future products by conducting user research supported by on-going visits to customers and potential customersAssist in the setting of your product and service roadmaps and ensure that development priorities align to NEC commercial opportunity, customer needs and other market driversAct as the ‘product champion’ to relevant teams ensuring that they continue to focus on the delivery of product solutions that meet the needs of the marketplaceUndertake day to day management and administrative tasksProvide support to sales via up-to-date product content, undertaking internal briefings and supporting responses to tendersProvide regular product updates to support business strategy and decisionsProvide a point of contact for internal teams and customers for product enquiresWrite guides and other documentation for internal and external audiencesYour experience:Previous experience working within the UK Public Sector, with a good knowledge of local government services, specifically the area of Welfare Benefits with experience of system administration such as integration with other services such as the DWP and Document Management from a business and legislative perspectiveA good working knowledge of public sector organisations, where you have shown the ability to understand legal, commercial, and technical literature and communicate this clearly to other team membersA basic understanding of system administration and technical integration such as setting up and running batch processes within a software solutionExcellent inter-personal and communications skills capable of exploring and articulating complex concepts across the various stakeholders of any project.Some knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycleKnowledge of a system or solution used by local authoritiesThe ability to liaise and communicate with customers; information gathering, presentations, dispute resolution etc.Flexible, adaptable and used to working in an environment where solutions need to be delivered in challenging timeframesAdditional Information:We are proud of the benefits we offer employees of NEC Software Solutions Private Medical Cover funded by NEC for Employees (with the option to add family members at an additional cost)25 days paid holiday with the option to buy/ sell 4 x basic salary life assurance cover funded by NEC (with the option to increase cover at an additional cost)A Group Pension Plan with fantastic employer contributions up to a maximum of 8.5%A fantastic selection of flexible benefits to suit your individual needsWe are an employer who cares, we have a invaluable employee assistance programme which can help in every area of your lifeAll colleagues get free access to LinkedIn Learning.
