Producer Services Representative
Maryland Auto Insurance is a Property & Casualty Insurance carrier and independent agency of the State of Maryland. They are seeking a results-driven Producer Services Representative committed to driving premium growth, expanding producer engagement, and strengthening visibility across the state. The role primarily focuses on increasing written premium by expanding the active producer network and ensuring producers understand how Maryland Auto supports their business.ResponsibilitiesRecruit new producers and agencies to expand Maryland Auto’s distribution footprint across MarylandIncrease written premium by promoting Maryland Auto’s value proposition, eligibility options, and coverage advantagesRe-engage underperforming or inactive producers to restore production levels and identify new business opportunitiesConduct regular in-person producer visits to strengthen relationships and introduce toolsRepresent Maryland Auto at industry events, producer meetings, mobile field engagements, and community outreach effortsDeliver impactful training that improves producer productivity and submission successCoach producers on how to position Maryland Auto effectively to win more businessProvide timely support to resolve underwriting questionsConduct in-person underwriting assessments to verify eligibility and compliancePerform site visits, documentation audits, and interviews to confirm risk accuracyIdentify inconsistencies or risk indicators and escalate concerns appropriatelyPartner with underwriting, fraud, and claims teams to support consistent decision-making and obtain relevant producer feedbackAssist underwriting with continued development of sales and performance reportingDocument outreach activities, training sessions, producer interactions, and underwriting reviewsSkills1-3 years of auto insurance underwriting experience, preferably with field responsibilitiesKnowledge of Maryland personal auto regulations and Maryland Auto's role as a residual market mechanismAbility to influence stakeholders and support premium-growth effortsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience with Maryland Auto or assigned-risk plansBackground in field underwriting, producer-facing roles, or fraud detectionInsurance certifications such as AU, AINS, or CPCUSpanish/English bilingual ability a plusBenefitsComprehensive health and dental coveragePension plan401(k) planGenerous leave packageTuition reimbursementFree onsite parkingCompany OverviewWithout insurance, it's harder to get where you want to be.
