About the positionThe role involves planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules while coordinating with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production needs. The position requires advising management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Responsibilities include scheduling equipment and personnel, confirming material supply and demands, preparing work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.The role also involves coordinating interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic, as well as scheduling and expediting the movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders. Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules. • Coordinate with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials. • Advise management on the status of work in progress and material availability.• Schedule equipment and personnel. • Confirm material supply and demands. • Prepare work orders or purchase requests based on production schedules. • Coordinate interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and inventory control. • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; or Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience. • NNS Apprentice School graduate or Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate may be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.• Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience. • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience. • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience. • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience.
