Private Tutor Special Education
We are currently seeking several dedicated and experienced educators to provide tutoring services to special education students on site in Dallas, Texas. As a private tutor, you will work with school staff to offer in-person tutoring to special education students from k-4th grade levels at a specific school. You will have access to support staff as needed and all supplies, tools, etc. to create... effective and engaging tutoring session to your students.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions on site to students based on their individual needs and academic goals.
Develop and implement personalized lesson plans and teaching strategies.
Assess students' strengths and weaknesses to tailor instruction accordingly.
Help students improve their study skills, organization, and time management.
Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents and Learning Tree Tutors.
Collaborate with parents, teachers & support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Stay updated on the latest educational techniques and resources.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children, preferably in a tutoring or teaching role for special education students k-4th grade.
Excellent knowledge of the subjects/level you will be tutoring (e.g., math, ELA, science, social studies, etc.).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with students, parents and school staff.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles & differences.
Reliable transportation to travel to students' homes/school or agreed-upon meeting locations within Dallas.
Availability to meet consistently week to week, including daytime hours based on students' schedules.
Access to a computer and internet connection for occasional remote work (e.g., lesson planning, communication with parents, etc.).
