Principal Solution Architect (Remote Work Option)
About the position The Principal Solution Architect at Nike will lead the development and implementation of a platform strategy and architecture that supports seamless and connected experiences for Nike's product creation professionals. This role requires a proven track record in driving technology change in complex environments, with a focus on delivering strategic and executable designs that enhance technology efficiency and user experience. Responsibilities • Collaborate with Product Innovation, Merchandising, Design & Development teams to deliver an end-to-end Nike Product lifecycle strategy and architecture. • Deliver recommendations and transition strategies optimizing cost efficiency and simplifying the solution ecosystem. • Lead and deliver solution designs based on business capability requirements and roadmaps following an API-first model. • Provide hands-on leadership in ideation and implementation of solutions. • Ensure architecture alignment across domains and enabling functions. • Provide technology guidance and insight to business & technology leaders. • Maintain awareness of vendor products and industry trends to identify potential impacts and benefits. • Present recommendations and solutions clearly to various audiences. • Drive alignment with corporate strategies through strong business and technical thought leadership. • Effectively manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines. Requirements • In-depth knowledge in one or more business domains (Merchandising, Product 2D/3D Design, Product Development, etc.). • 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with modern software architectural principles and patterns. • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture and/or engineering lead roles with agile teams. • Bachelor's Degree or relevant education, training, and experience. • Large enterprise experience including global implementations and solution delivery. • Knowledge of well-architected frameworks and experience designing platforms for optimal performance. • Strong experience with microservice architecture, cloud computing, DevOps, Java, JavaScript, REST API, and NoSQL DB.
