Role Overview As a Principal Network Engineer at Workwarp, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure to meet the complex needs of the health domain. You will lead our network engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and expertise to ensure the highest level of network performance, security, and compliance. Your experience in network architecture, security, and compliance will be invaluable in helping us navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the healthcare industry. Key Responsibilities: Network Architecture Design: Design and implement strategic network architectures that meet the performance, security, and compliance requirements of the health domain, including HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Network Engineering: Lead the implementation of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability. Security and Compliance: Develop and implement network security protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CIS, NIST, and HIPAA. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide network engineers, providing technical expertise and coaching to ensure the team's success. Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors, including value-added resellers and service providers, to procure and implement network solutions. Project Management: Lead large-scale network projects from planning to implementation, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality deliverables. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to ensure high network availability and performance. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field. Professional Experience: Ten (10) years of professional experience in networking infrastructure, specifically in designing and managing multiple vendor technologies (Cisco, Fortigate, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, F5) including switches, routers, wireless devices, firewalls, and load balancers. Security Experience: Ten (10) years of experience securing network infrastructure using best practice guidelines, including CIS or NIST or other industry benchmarks. Managerial Experience: Five (5) years of managerial or supervisory experience. Business Continuity Planning: Relevant experience with Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR). Preferred Qualifications: Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages, such as Python, Ansible, or SaltStack. Network Monitoring: Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Splunk. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills: Networking Principles: Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, subnetting, IP addressing, routing, and switching. Network Protocols: Knowledge of network protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SNMP, SSH, etc. Routing and Switching: Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching concepts (VLANs, trunking, port channels). Firewalls and Security: Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network security protocols. Soft Skills: Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop logical, effective solutions.
