Principal Mechanical Engineer - PE Required OR EIT Details:
• Direct Hire position
• $100,000.00 /annually
• Salaried
• Lead mechanical design and construction administration tasks for water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments of existing mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and environmental regulations.
• Develop detailed design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans/specifications for mechanical systems, including pumping stations, piping systems, HVAC, and rotating equipment.
• Oversee the design and selection of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, and treatment process components.
• Manage construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site inspections during installation and commissioning.
• Provide engineering support for system modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting mechanical issues during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, such as ASME, ANSI, NFPA, and applicable state/local regulations.
• Utilize mechanical design and analysis software to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Communicate technical information and project updates clearly with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements through effective project management and coordination

Principal Mechanical Engineer - PE Required OR EIT Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one in the State of Michigan.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, pumping, ventilation, and rotating equipment.
• Proficiency with applicable codes and design standards (ASME, ANSI, NFPA, and state/local regulations)
• Experience using mechanical design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar.
