Principal Enterprise Architect - Data & AI Platforms (remote work eligible in US)
About the position Responsibilities • Drive architecture and design for Data & AI Platforms to maximize technical capability and value of foundational technology investments. • Provide deep technical subject matter expertise and mentoring for advanced data management and AI processing. • Lead and drive strategy and architecture for modern data lake, data processing, and engineering systems. • Contribute to and align strategy and architecture for machine learning, AI, and Generative AI capabilities across Nike. • Collaborate to analyze, refine, and prioritize technical capabilities and roadmaps with peer architects and engineers. • Advise management and stakeholders on emerging industry trends and capabilities. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent experience. • 10+ years of architecture or software engineering experience focusing on large scale enterprise technology platforms. • 7+ years of professional experience with AWS or other major cloud providers. • 7+ years in a lead engineering role for a platform used by multiple application teams. • Deep industry experience in Big Data, including Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and AI platforms. • Extensive experience building resilient, secure, and efficient shared software platforms. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Generative AI technologies. • Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive technology change.
