As a Principal DevOps Engineer at CVS Health, you will be responsible for driving the organizational change in developing DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements and ensure adoption, including observability, scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture
Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques
Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement and optimization
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for adoption
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning
Requirements:
Experience working in public cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex DevOps platform issues
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions)
Experience with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers
