JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW As a Principal Consultant specializing in Enterprise Systems, you will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge, technology-driven solutions that drive digital transformation and business outcomes for our life sciences clients. You will assess complex business and technology landscapes to bring clarity and set strategic direction, leading complex, large-scale initiatives specifically focused on ERP, CRM, HCM and other enterprise software systems and infrastructure. In this role, you will manage multi-disciplinary teams and oversee strategic projects critical to client growth and innovation. Leveraging deep technical expertise, you will guide growth-oriented life sciences businesses through their most challenging IT transformation journeys. This role requires a "seller-doer" mindset, combining senior leadership oversight with active business development to expand the firm’s footprint in the life sciences industry. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and drive IT strategy and digital transformation projects. • Lead and drive IT strategy and digital transformation projects, taking full ownership of the design and implementation of enterprise digital initiatives. • Serve as a subject matter expert in ERP, demonstrating a critical understanding of underlying business processes, including Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, General Ledger (GL), Planning, and Inventory. • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of engagements, from initial scoping and project staffing to final deployment, ensuring all business results and client expectations are met. • Deliver client-ready strategic solutions related to enterprise software systems (ERP, CRM, HCM), other SaaS solutions, and IT infrastructure. • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business solutions, helping senior executives understand and implement their IT vision. • Manage project execution and risk, delivering high-quality, on-time results while maintaining personal and team billable utilization targets. • Deliver client-ready deliverables, including advanced IT solutions and insights. • Deliver client-ready strategic IT solutions, including cloud architectures, enterprise software systems, data analytics frameworks, and IT infrastructure optimizations • Utilize your extensive expertise in technology to deliver practical recommendations, guiding senior executives on IT strategies designed to enhance operational efficiency, foster digital innovation, and strengthen competitive advantage. • Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business solutions will be crucial in helping clients understand and implement their IT vision. • Champion data-driven IT decision-making and digital strategy. • Lead data-driven IT assessments, including infrastructure evaluations, application architecture reviews, and cloud readiness assessments, helping clients make informed decisions about their technology • Guide clients through the development of IT roadmaps that align technology strategies with business objectives, leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and automation tools to deliver tangible business outcomes • Your ability to synthesize complex technical data into strategic recommendations will be critical in helping clients optimize IT operations and accelerate digital transformation • Drive business development and client relationship growth. • Achieve annual sales targets by proactively identifying new business opportunities and developing long-term relationships with key decision-makers. • Prospect and network to maintain a robust pipeline of viable projects, focusing on "hunting" new opportunities. • Lead the development of proposals, including scoping, pricing, and presenting SOWs that align with client needs and firm margin targets. • Collaborate with colleagues to optimize the chance of contract signing and expand the firm's client base • Mentor and develop junior team members. • Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a collaborative team environment • Provide guidance on project management, client interaction, and skill development • Foster a culture of continuous learning to help cultivate the next generation of leaders within the firm • Exemplify core values and hold team members accountable for professional development plans and high standards of project delivery. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE • 10+ years of consulting or equivalent work experience, including proven expertise in leading complex, large-scale IT engagements. • Strong understanding of business and technology challenges in life sciences (biotech, biopharma, pharma services) and experience with companies owned by private-equity firms. • Proven expertise in ERP implementation and optimization; additional experience with CRM and HCM platforms is highly preferred. • Deep understanding of core business processes such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, GL, Planning, and Inventory. Knowledge of common CRM and HCM business processes an advantage. • Proven experience in a role requiring both individual sales credit and project delivery oversight. • Bachelor’s degree in a life-science, engineering, or relevant field. • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to influence C-suite executives through strong written and verbal communication. • Advanced proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software, with the ability to create sophisticated technical models, roadmaps, and strategic presentations. • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple, high-impact IT projects simultaneously while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and exceptional client satisfaction. • A strong track record of navigating complex client needs and leading technology implementations that drive business growth and competitive advantage. • This role is open to remote candidates; however, preference will be given to those located in Boston, MA; or Durham, NC.
