Manages projects from inception to completion with matrix, global teams. Participate in projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure that the requirements are met like making tax rules configurations, reviewing test cases, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring alignment across teams.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Requirements AnalysisPartners with business stakeholders to analyze, define and document business processes within and across cross functional areasUnderstands the e-Invoicing Tax compliance and the implications and able to analyze the requirements and provide a robust solutionManages projects from inception to completion with matrix, global teamsRequires deep, cross functional business process expertise in Finance domains (GL, Intercompany, AP, AR, Direct tax) and innovative solutioning across platforms and systems/architecturesAble to distill executive level requirements into appropriate discovery work plans and guide team members on good requirements gatheringUnderstands business environment and helps to connect/align relevant business stakeholders for complex Tax requirementsProcess Modeling and DesignPartners with Vertex, Oracle & E-Invoicing Vendors for Tax compliance and with team members to model business processesDevelop as-is and to-be process flows to support the design and development of solutionsStrong technical and analytical skills on problem solving and suggest solutionsStakeholder ManagementSkilled communicator, trusted to recognize and proactively manage key impacts and drive issue resolutionManages delivery scope and risks, and sets right expectations with stakeholdersWork with other product owners, cross-functional teams technical/ functional resources, and business owners to align the product portfolio with the enterprise strategyManage sales & use tax-related inquiries, audits from taxing jurisdictions and provide guidance and support to Tax stakeholders on indirect tax queriesSolution DesignResponsible to design strategic cross-functional and global solutions that align with long-term organizational goals and roadmapsResearch and provide state tax nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantification of potential sales and use/indirect tax exposuresLead or contribute to projects aimed at improving compliance efficiency, including evaluation and implementation of tax automation solutionsDocumentationSupports senior management by creating architecture, project management and roadmap documentationFunctional DesignDevelops functional designs in line with an Enterprise Architecture and the long-term business roadmapCollaborates with cross functional business and IT teams to ensure business needs are addressed in the functional designsArchitectureApplication/integration architecture; constructs solutions across multiple functional areas and applicationsExtensive experience with Vertex tax engine, Oracle Fusion Tax and integration with cross-functional applications/Billing platformsIdentify, understand, and communicate changes in the tax law or regulations that would have an impact on Vertex productsTesting & Test DesignDevelops test strategy and execution to cover testing in an optimal amount of time ensuring cross-functional testing coverageAbility to manage multiple cross functional projects running in parallelConducts System Integration Testing(SIT), work collaboratively with team members and support business during UATIdentifies and manages risks in release deliveryWorking knowledge and hands-on experience on Jira and Agile methodology. Able to manage projects executed with Agile or hybrid approachLeads troubleshooting efforts with documented defect triaging and resolution with the involved cross functional teams. System ConfigurationsExpert on indirect taxes configurations in Vertex and Oracle Fusion Tax - including US sales taxes, EU value-added taxes and other global transaction taxesMaintains and manages the integration of tax engine software with the ERP system including overseeing tax code assignments for products and servicesHands-on knowledge of indirect taxes - including US sales taxes, EU value-added taxes and other global transaction taxesWorking knowledge of Withholding Tax and configurations in Oracle ApplicationsDay to Day Support (Production Support)Monitors and manages support metrics and trends for functional areasDrives team towards root cause identification and resolutionAble to triage and guide the team towards PoC approach with reasoningMentors junior BSAs on functional designs, testing approach and robust configurationsProcess Improvement and change managementExperience in automation, process improvement, and data quality initiatives using tax technology toolsAnalyzes adoption rates and issues and assesses business case realization and proposes solutions to improve the processesSuggests and drives innovative process improvementsVendor ManagementManages/leads individual consultants or consulting teams from Vertex as assigned on a projectPartners with Vertex, Oracle & E-Invoicing Vendors for Tax complianceQualificationsHaving at least total 10+ years of working experienceExperience on Merger & Acquisition is highly desirableStrong expertise in Vertex & Oracle Cloud Fusion Tax (7+ years)Good Knowledge of Oracle Apps Finance (EBS) modulesStrong exposure to AGIS, EB Tax, Account Receivables, Payables and Revenue managementShould have ability to work independently on Project deliverablesAble to lead a small group of Business AnalystEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
