Practice Growth Director

The Practice Growth Director will partner closely with our Group Vice Presidents, Area Vice Presidents and Market Directors to ensure focus/target practices are driving productivity, practice management, teaming, succession, advice, and balanced sales growth. This position will also work closely with other distribution teams to align strategically to achieve our goal to significantly grow its business and client base. This role is responsible for achieving growth goals for Annual New Business Production (ANBP), advisor productivity, increasing teams, and ensuring practice protection with succession planning. The Practice Growth Director will partner with the Teaming, Succession and JFW Consultants to ensure consistent use of the organization’s policies, programs and practices. This can be a remote position within the US. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Drive growth in ANBP, acquiring new clients, and achieving investment revenue targets (RFOB), with full accountability for meeting these performance metrics. • Enhance the growth and productivity of experienced financial advisors by supporting their practices and succession planning. Focus on expanding target practices through the identification of specialized roles, robust annual business planning, and assistance with complex revenue-sharing agreements. • Demonstrate a strong commitment to and deep understanding of the organization’s purpose-based advice strategy and solutions. Ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality advice experience and implement both protection and investment product solutions. • Proactively support experienced advisors with business plans and goals through efficient communication. Coach them and provide necessary tools to ensure their success. Develop and implement strategies to enhance practice productivity, including book management, client service models, and staffing. • Coach and promote collaboration among advisors of varying tenures and productivity levels through peer-to-peer forums, one-on-one coaching, and regional meetings. • Support group capacity growth by retaining experienced advisors and enhancing practices through effective teaming and advice capacity additions. Build strong advisor relationships to generate warm referrals for local groups and teams. • Develop collaborative relationships with the National Practice Group, Advisor Growth, Advice, Wholesaling teams, and regional leaders, focusing on strategic alignment and addressing local advisor needs. • Coach veteran practices and cultivate a positive and productive veteran advisor culture resulting in increased productivity, sales, revenue, new clients, practice leverage, and building team structures. • Coach and support advisors on exploring and executing team models in partnership with the Succession, Teaming, and Joint Field Work teams. • Enhance the professionalism of experienced advisor practices and ensure an exceptional client experience using the purpose-based advice framework. • Foster cooperation between experienced and new advisors through joint field work and book management. Recognize and celebrate collaborative contributions and achievements. • Assist in identifying the need to add to teams, sourcing candidates, and conducting interviews for target practices. • Develop and implement advisor and team segmentation strategies, including facilitating study groups, helping advisors present ideas to peers, and building a positive culture with advisors and field leaders. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: • Four-year college degree strongly preferred. • Minimum five years coaching financial advisors. Demonstrated experience and expertise working with more sophisticated advisors and practices strongly preferred. • Experience in using the organization’s advice platform, Salesforce and other Thrivent tools and systems (i.e. CAP, Illustrations, etc.) and have an ability and willingness to model, promote and demonstrate usage of tools as needed. • Expertise with foundational practice management topics required: client service models, adding staff/new advisors to a team or solo practice, model office, etc. • Familiarity with more advanced practice management topics: revenue sharing teams, legal entity team structures, advanced staff roles is strongly preferred. • Ability to present and facilitate large and small groups in order to drive understanding of concepts and practices that lead to experienced advisor success. • Ability to utilize technology, like Salesforce and Power BI to connect with and coach advisors. • Professional designation or history of significant progress toward achievement preferred. • FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days. • State insurance licensed and appointed in life, health and variable lines of authority or obtained within 90 days. • State securities registered and insurance licensed and appointed in all states that comprise the group area. • Once advisors are assigned to this position, this position will require securities registrations, state insurance licenses and appointments in all states where advisors are conducting business and receiving commissions. • Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record. • Flexibility to travel within the region (may include overnight) and conduct business during evening hours. The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $77,655.00 - $105,061.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
