Power BI (Python / Investment background)
Power BI Consultant (Python | Investments) – Remote Overview We are seeking an experienced Power BI Consultant with a strong background in investments and financial data to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making initiatives. This is a remote, consulting-based role focused on building insightful dashboards, automating data workflows, and translating complex investment data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal consultant is both technically strong (Power BI, Python, data modeling) and financially fluent (investment products, portfolios, performance metrics). Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for investment and financial use cases • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions • Use Python to clean, transform, analyze, and automate financial and investment data workflows • Develop and optimize data models, DAX calculations, and measures • Work with large, complex datasets related to portfolios, performance, risk, and market data • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and documentation across reporting solutions • Provide ad hoc analysis and strategic insights to support investment decision-making • Recommend best practices for data visualization, governance, and scalability Required Qualifications • Proven experience as a Power BI consultant or analyst • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and data modeling • Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis and automation • Solid background in investments or financial services (e.g., asset management, private equity, hedge funds, banking, or fintech) • Experience working with financial metrics such as returns, benchmarks, AUM, risk, or performance attribution • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders • Comfortable working independently in a remote consulting environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience integrating Power BI with cloud data sources (Azure, SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.) • Familiarity with APIs and market data feeds • Consulting experience supporting multiple stakeholders or projects • Knowledge of financial regulations or reporting standards a plus Engagement Details • Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred) • Type: Consulting / Contract • Duration: Project-based or ongoing, depending on business needs • Hours: Flexible, based on project scope Why This Role • Work remotely with a high-impact, data-driven investment team • Apply both technical and financial expertise in meaningful ways • Flexible consulting engagement with room to grow the relationship Apply tot his job
