Power BI Developer - Deltek Costpoint Specialist

We are seeking Power BI Developer / Consultant with Deltek Costpoint expertise to design, develop, and support high-impact business intelligence solutions. This role blends hands-on Power BI development, Costpoint data integration, and consultative client-facing work, along with support for Lifescale’s internal analytics environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical skill in Power BI and strong communication skills to translate complex data—especially in government contracting and project-based environments—into actionable insights for executives and operational teams. Responsibilities Client-Facing Power BI Consulting • Lead requirements discovery workshops to identify business objectives, KPIs, and reporting gaps. • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. • Build scalable Power BI data models, DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations. • Apply data storytelling principles to ensure dashboards communicate trends, risks, and opportunities—not just metrics. • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by recommending BI best practices and data-driven operational improvements. • Present dashboards and insights to executive and non-technical stakeholders. • Support user adoption through training, documentation, and enablement sessions. Internal Power BI Enablement (Secondary Focus) • Develop and maintain internal Power BI dashboards supporting Lifescale’s operations. • Integrate Power BI with Deltek Costpoint using ODBC, APIs, or SQL-based connections. • Translate Costpoint data structures into clean Power BI models for internal reporting (e.g., project performance, labor utilization, budget vs. actuals). • Troubleshoot data issues and document internal BI architecture. Required Qualifications Power BI Expertise • 3–7+ years of Power BI development and consulting experience. Strong proficiency in: • DAX • Power Query (M) • SQL • Proven ability to design executive-ready dashboards and intuitive data models. • Experience integrating Power BI with a variety of data sources and platforms. Consulting & Communication Skills • Strong consultative mindset—you ask the right questions before building. • Experience translating business needs into effective BI solutions. • Comfort presenting insights and telling the story behind the data to executive audiences. • Ability to manage stakeholders, timelines, and evolving requirements. Nice to Have • Experience in a professional services or consulting environment. • Familiarity with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.). • Exposure to government, manufacturing, healthcare, or industrial data environments. • Experience delivering BI training or adoption workshops.
