Power BI Developer (Contract) - NO C2C

Primary Responsibilities:
• Partner with stakeholders to gather and interpret business data and reporting needs.
• Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions, including dashboards, data models, and reports.
• Convert raw data into actionable insights using calculated columns, measures, and DAX expressions.
• Prepare and cleanse datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
• Build interactive visualizations and reporting tools that clearly communicate complex information.
• Optimize performance and scalability of BI solutions.
• Create and manage data models to support ad-hoc analysis and self-service reporting.
• Collaborate with data engineering and database teams to ensure data reliability and availability.
• Implement data security practices to safeguard sensitive information in reporting tools.
• Analyze datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot BI solutions to ensure smooth operation.
• Stay current on the latest Power BI enhancements and industry best practices.
• Document data sources, models, and reporting logic for ongoing reference and compliance.
• Assist in defining and maintaining data governance standards and policies.
• Tune performance of queries and improve data retrieval efficiency.
• Perform data validation and ensure quality assurance across reporting outputs.
• Lead user acceptance testing and integrate feedback into solution enhancements.
• Identify new opportunities for improving data visualization and insight generation.
• Continuously refine reports and models based on evolving business needs and processes.

Qualifications & Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in Business Intelligence or a comparable data analytics role.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including its full suite of features.

Knowledge & Experience:
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Proven skill in designing visually engaging and user-friendly dashboards.
• Understanding of data modeling and data warehouse architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems.
• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Knowledge of data visualization principles and effective storytelling with data.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business questions into technical solutions.
• Understanding of data security and governance best practices.
• Familiarity with data integration tools and processes.
• Working knowledge of dimensional modeling and warehousing concepts.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities for cross-functional teamwork.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of core business processes and how data supports decision-making.
• Experience with additional BI tools like Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
• Exposure to data mining and advanced analytics techniques is beneficial.
• Programming knowledge in languages like Python or R is an advantage.

• Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst) are preferred.
