About the Role We're on the hunt for a highly skilled Power BI Business Intelligence Technical Lead to join our team in a hybrid capacity, based in our Farmington, White Plains, or Morristown offices. As a Technical Lead, you'll be at the forefront of developing and supporting our Reinsurance Business Intelligence Application, used extensively by our Reinsurance business teams. Your expertise will be crucial in driving Business Intelligence project initiatives forward, working closely with our product management team and business peers. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of the Reinsurance BI Application, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our business. Collaborate with internal and external technology and business partners to implement product changes and drive innovation. Critically analyze business requirements, architect, and implement BI solutions that drive business value. Produce detailed designs, guide junior developers, review code, and test results as required, fostering a culture of excellence. Define, develop, and maintain effective BI solutions that support our business objectives. Provide production support as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Work closely with the product manager to develop and execute action plans to address gaps and drive continuous improvement. Recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization, staying ahead of industry trends. Communicate effectively with both business and technical teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and project delivery. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of BI Development experience, with hands-on development using Power BI. Development experience using DAX, Databricks, and Snowflake or equivalent technologies. Experience in a Reinsurance, Insurance, or financial organization, understanding the nuances of these industries. Good analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into actionable insights. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge: SQL or Python development expertise, with the ability to leverage these skills to drive BI solutions. Experience working with Data bricks, Snowflake, and ADF, and a deep understanding of Azure environments. Agile methodologies experience, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Datawarehouse experience, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable data architectures. Experience working with external data feeds to enrich internal data, and a understanding of data conformance processes. CICD process experience, with a focus on automating testing, deployment, and monitoring. Experience building business intelligence solutions to support finance, underwriting, and pricing functions. SOX and SOC-2 compliant environment experience, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements. Production environment monitoring and support experience, ensuring high availability and performance.
