Position Title Portfolio Manager, AVP Location Nationwide, MI 48098 Job Summary A Portfolio Manager must be an analytical, organized, team-focused individual with good verbal and written communication skills. This individual will have several roles depending where needed which include 1) the assisting of a Sr Portfolio Manager in completing an in-depth analysis of complex Franchise Restaurant loan requests that have tight completion dates, 2) at times, will being responsible for the completion of smaller Franchise Restaurant loan requests, and 3) assist in the completion of required portfolio reports that include annual reviews, Leveraged Lending reports, quarterly monitor reports, and special projects as needed. Portfolio Managers work in a team environment with the Sr. Portfolio Managers, Borrowers, and closers. Primary responsibilities include underwriting, financial analysis, and form completion that will help maintain portfolio credit quality with appropriate risk ratings. The individual should display the willingness to learn the process, be flexible in assisting where needed, and work well with other teammates and Borrowers. Pay Range: $84,878 - $112,436 - $140,049 Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $0.00 - $0.00 Job Responsibilities: • Underwrite, Analyze and Close Loans: Working with the relationship manager, take a lead role in the structuring, underwriting and analysis of commercial loan requests. Prepare credit approval packages, present recommendations to the credit team/senior management, and close complex commercial loans. • Portfolio Management: Responsible for monitoring the credit quality of the assigned portfolio by periodically evaluating financial trends, covenant compliance and borrowing bases, including the preparation of annual (or more frequent) reviews. In addition, responsible for managing delinquencies and collateral exceptions. • Relationship Management: Highly visible role in managing the client relationship along with the deal team. • Training: Mentor, train and develop junior team members. • Maintaining Knowledge: Knowledgeable about the various commercial products available to clients as well as general market/industry trends. Job Requirements: • 5-8 years of experience • Handles transactions/relationships/portfolio with moderate level of complexity • Bachelor’s Degree: Business, Finance or related field • Must possess highly advanced credit analysis skills (prefer a candidate with formal credit training) • Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement analysis • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills • Excels in a team environment • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of leadership and employees within the organization • Ability to work autonomously, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to new demands and challenges • Familiarity with nCino, Credit Lens, AFS is a plus • Credit Analysis or Loan Review experience, preferably in the banking industry Flagstar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
