They are seeking a Plan Document Specialist to manage the preparation and maintenance of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and effective communication with clients.ResponsibilitiesDraft documents and corporate resolutions establishing plansReview existing plans in conjunction with preparing their amendment and restatementPrepare employee communications, including Summary Plan Descriptions, Summaries of Material Modifications, Beneficiary Designation Forms, election forms, and required participant noticesDraft corporate resolutions and amendmentsPrepare various governmental filingsObtain fidelity bonds for new qualified retirement plansApply for and secure Employer Identification Numbers and Trust Identification NumbersProvide effective and timely, both verbal and written, communications in a clear and professional manner with clients and their advisors on plan issuesCoordinate with other staff members to resolve issues or gather dataResearch technical and regulatory concernsDevelop and maintain working knowledge of retirement plan legislation and gain extensive knowledge of ERISA laws and regulations over timeConduct and complete additional assignments/projects as designated by managementSkillsAssociate degree and Paralegal certificate, or Bachelor's degree requiredProven ability to handle multiple tasks independently, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environmentA history of academic and/or professional success with a persistent desire for professional development and a proven track record of achieving resultsAbility to read and interpret legal documentsDemonstrated ability to convey thoughts and ideas effectively and succinctly via written formats, including emails, letters, and electronic platforms.
