Responsibilities
Ā• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals.

Ā• Ensure compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, and other regulatory standards.

Ā• Maintain collection tray/container/bag and working area in a neat and sanitary condition.

Ā• Restock supplies as necessary and procure supplies in cooperation with the team lead.

Ā• Prepare specimens for referral to outside labs, including ordering and packaging.
,
Ā• Perform all patient specimen collections including venipuncture, capillary collection, and urine drug screen collection.
,
Ā• Ensure specimen requirements are met at the time of collection and maintain specimen integrity.
,
Ā• Demonstrate good communication skills with customers, patients, and healthcare professionals.
,
Ā• Operate the laboratory computer system for documentation and order entry.
,
Ā• Complete associate performance evaluations and annual competency assessments in a timely manner.

Requirements
Ā• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
,
Ā• Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred.
,
Ā• Familiarity with medical terminology and computer data entry.
,
Ā• Organizational skills are essential.
,
Ā• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
,
Ā• Certification from a National Accredited Program preferred.
