Job Summary

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to fill Pharmacy Technician positions with potential remote data entry opportunities. In this role, you will support our pharmacists in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting with prescription processing, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and providing outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities

Pharmacy Operations


Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies and procedures
Utilize pharmacy systems to accurately obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
Enter patient and drug records into the system, ensuring all information is entered correctly and efficiently
Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets with precision and accuracy
Verify medication is correct and check for possible drug interactions before dispensing
Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining efficient workflow within the pharmacy
Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company rules regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs
Strictly adhere to company policy regarding good faith dispensing across all applicable prescription dispensing activities


Customer Service Excellence


Engage customers and patients by greeting them warmly and providing assistance with services and products
Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal habits including proper greeting, eye contact, and courtesy
Provide help proactively, identify customer needs, and service until completely satisfied
Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers through personalized care and attention
Guide customers to OTC aisles when possible to assist in finding products


Financial Responsibilities


Register all related income on assigned cash register accurately
Collect and handle cash as required by company policy
Process (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third-party prescription program services in a timely and efficient manner
Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager


Inventory Management


Support pharmacy department stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of prescription drugs
Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques
Document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or broken goods related to prescription medications
Ensure the pharmacy department is adequately stocked with supplies
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pharmacy area


Clinical Support


May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients
Provide other medical services as required by state regulations
Assist pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, healthcare clinics, and external vendors
Support pharmacy manager and staff pharmacist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community
Participate in medical provider detailing and outreach to health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities


Additional Responsibilities


Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers
Complete special assignments and other responsibilities as assigned
If PTCB certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy cash registers


Required Qualifications


Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Certification Requirements:
Earn and maintain PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/registration
Otherwise, earn PTCB certification as a condition of promotion to senior technician
Legal Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States
Background Check: Must pass required background checks as per company policy and state regulations


Preferred Qualifications


Six months or more of experience in a retail environment
Previous work experience with arenaflex or similar pharmacy settings
Strong mathematical skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines
Proficient computer skills for pharmacy system operation
Knowledge of store inventory management procedures
PTCB certification (preferred but not required for entry-level positions)
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting
Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
