What You'll Do

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you'll play a multifaceted role that combines retail excellence with pharmacy support. Your daily responsibilities will include:

Customer Experience Excellence


Greet and welcome every customer with genuine warmth and professionalism, creating a positive first impression that sets the tone for their entire shopping experience
Engage proactively with customers and patients to understand their needs and provide personalized assistance with products and services
Resolve customer issues and inquiries efficiently, ensuring every visitor leaves satisfied and confident in their decision to trust arenaflex for their health and wellness needs
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills including friendly greetings, appropriate eye contact, and courteous behavior that reflects arenaflex's commitment to service excellence
Anticipate customer needs and offer proactive assistance, going above and beyond to ensure each person feels valued and appreciated


Sales and Register Operations


Process customer purchases accurately on assigned cash registers, collecting payments and providing correct change with attention to detail
Handle various transaction types including voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies
Recommend products to customers and suggest complementary items or partner products that may enhance their purchase
Guide customers to the OTC (over-the-counter) aisle when appropriate to assist them in finding products that meet their needs
Maintain a clean, organized checkout area that reflects arenaflex's professional image


Pharmacy Support Services


Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision and in accordance with state and federal guidelines, within the scope of pharmacy practice
Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information accurately, ensuring all data is captured correctly for prescription processing
Help fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical pills, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for potential drug interactions
Support pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining efficient pharmacy workflow
Review prescription submissions for errors and immediately alert the on-duty pharmacist, adhering to company guidelines regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement protocols
Handle phone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including inquiries to physicians and other healthcare providers
Process manual claims for third-party prescription services efficiently, submitting corrected claims as needed
Perform clerical duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager


Inventory and Merchandising


Maintain counters and shelves in an efficient and well-merchandised condition, taking regular stock and maintaining accurate records
Receive and price merchandise as required or as directed by the store manager or shift leader
Support Pharmacy Department inventory control activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
Maintain awareness of company asset protection techniques and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged items related to prescription medications
Construct and maintain eye-catching displays, including promotional, seasonal, and special sale products; complete resets and revisions as directed
Assist with food separation and product placement according to company procedures, ensuring raw and frozen products are properly stored
Use the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method for inventory rotation on consumable items and assist with restocking outs


Additional Responsibilities


Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, poster prints, and creative systems; suggestively sell promotional photo products
Assume web pick-up duties, including monitoring orders in the system, filling orders by picking items, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store
Assist with outside and interior maintenance to ensure clean, neat, orderly conditions and professional appearance
Comply with all company guidelines and processes while maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers
Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by management


What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications


High school diploma or equivalent is required
Strong customer service skills with a genuine desire to help others
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening


Preferred Qualifications


Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
Knowledge of pharmacy operations and prescription processing
Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and point-of-sale technology
Understanding of state and local laws regarding regulated products
Experience with merchandise display and inventory management
Certification or training in pharmacy technician or related healthcare field
