Department: ICE | BHSL Center for Addiction Services and Treatment Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Pharmacist in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) Center for Addiction Services and Treatment (CAST) Methadone Clinic serves as the pharmacist in charge under a specialty pharmacy permit. The Pharmacist shall provide written policies, procedures, and protocols for the operation of the specialty pharmacy and shall obtain the approval of same by the Executive Director of the Pharmacy Board. The Pharmacist assumes responsibility for methadone inventory according to the methadone clinic, specialty pharmacy permit, DEA requirements, and FDA requirements. The Pharmacist follows rules and regulations issued by the Arkansas Bureau of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Prevention and the State Guidelines for Methadone Maintenance programs. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD plus 1 year of experience working as a pharmacist (or pharmacy intern) in a retail or hospital setting Licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas Additional Information: Responsibilities: Preparation of methadone for outpatient dispensing. Review of computerized dispensing records and maintaining administration and dispensing records. Education of methadone maintenance patients and consultations with staff regarding dosing, drug interactions, and other pharmacological matters.
