Job Details Job Location HBS - Princeton, NJ Position Type Per Diem Education Level None Salary Range $32.00 - $37.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Description This is a fully remote per-diem position that does not qualify for benefits. Objective: Performs coding assignments (IP, ED, and OP) and Data Quality Reviews with minimal supervision. Performs other temporary staffing assignments associated with the NJHA-HBS program. Assist in capturing the necessary data needed to effectively perform Data Quality Reviews. Equipment Used to Perform Essential Functions: Encoder system, Hospital Clinical and Financial Systems, telephone, computer, VPN access systems, calculator. Essential Job Functions: • Ability to perform coding assignments with minimal supervision, thereby demonstrating proficiency in ICD-9-CM, ICD-10 and CPT coding systems to be used at diverse health care settings. • Maintains NJHA-HBS' coding guidelines and pertinent resources to enhance and maximize coding accuracy. • Maintain coding credentials; keep abreast of all coding changes, including coding clinics, CPT assistant, new and revised codes (ICD and CPT). • Abides by the terms and conditions of the Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement. • Other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications: CAANPC (Certified Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder) certification required. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology required. Working knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding principles and practices with coding experience. Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality required.
