Peer Leadership Fellows Wellness Cohort Coordinator

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Teen Engagement, the Peer Leadership Fellows Wellness Cohort Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Peer Wellness Cohort of the Peer Leadership Fellows, a national model for peer-to-peer relational engagement and empowering teens to reduce stigma within the Jewish community and among their peers around mental health and wellness. The Peer Wellness Cohort Coordinator works in partnership with the Director of Teen Programs and the Assistant Director of Teen Engagement serving a premiere group of teen leaders, selected through a coordinated application process each spring, representing communities throughout Greater Boston. The Coordinator’s responsibilities include facilitation of monthly workshops, working with Fellows in grades 9 through 12, and involvement in strategic decisions for the program as a whole. Primary responsibilities include, and are not limited to: Engagement with Fellows: · Serve as coordinator/lead trainer/facilitator for PLF Wellness Cohort. · Bi-weekly check-ins with each Fellow (support, mentorship, planning, evaluation): one phone/Zoom call & one text message or email exchange per month. · Implement strategies and systems, as needed, to support Fellows’ relational engagement work and timely completion of identified deliverables. · Maintain regular communication with Fellows, families and community partners as needed. · Schedule and administer make-up opportunities for Fellows as necessary. · Facilitate relationship-building within the Wellness Cohort and between members of the Wellness Cohort and Engagement Cohort. Administration/Coordination: · Coordinate scheduling of PLF training seminars/gatherings with PLF Team. · Coordinate calendar of PLF Wellness Cohort-led communal programming. · Update curriculum in consultation with Assistant Director of Teen Engagement; · Secure/coordinate meeting space for training seminars and meetings if separate from Engagement Cohort schedule. · Coordinate weekly email communication to Fellows, including content such as meeting reminders, links to upcoming events to share with Fellows’ social networks, useful info, etc. (email, social, group text). · Maintain a current record/schedule of Fellows’ work, attendance and feedback. · Manage spring recruitment, application, and interview process with PLF team. Marketing and Communications · Provide monthly strategic updates on programming, data collection and other relevant information to Assistant Director of Teen Engagement. · Administer content calendar to share Fellows’ work and programming (web/blog/social, partner orgs - with coordination with PLF team for posting on JCC channels). · Provide #MeetTheFellowsMonday content (of Wellness Fellows) to Assistant Director of Teen Engagement for posting on JCC social channels. · Manage Fellows’ blog posts and content creation for JewishBostonTeens.com in partnership with Assistant Director of Teen Engagement. · Take photos of cohort programming and members at training seminars and events to be added to JCC photo library and featured on JCC social channels. Meetings and Partnerships · Meet with other community teen-serving colleagues to develop/strengthen partnership and opportunities for leadership at programming and events; · Meet with and/or communicate with the Assistant Director of Teen Engagement to identify opportunities for connection and synergy with the Peer Engagement cohort (examples: Fellow designed programming to be included in relational outreach, etc), in addition to coordinating training space, logistics and food; · Develop/strengthen relationships with teen-serving staff in the community. · Meet with Director of Teen Programs (quarterly) for on-going reflection and evaluation of program, logistics, curriculum and other pertinent needs for the success of the program; · Meet with PLF team on a monthly basis; · Participate in CJP Teen Education and Engagement Network programming, BeWell Resiliency Roundtable and other professional development opportunities as appropriate Standard Staff Expectations: Standard staff expectations include and are not limited to: · Actively create a welcoming dynamic that contributes to an environment where each individual is valued, seen, and respected · Support JCC Greater Boston’s mission, vision, and values including through personal role modeling · Attend JCCGB meetings and trainings as assigned, and actively participate in and support the goals and initiatives of JCCGB and the department · Other activities as required Supervisory Responsibilities: None This is a great chance to join JCC Greater Boston's respected and valued, people-orientated workplace of diverse community services providers, which is rapidly growing! Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree, with a Degree in education, psychology, social work, Jewish studies or related field preferred. Position requires 3+ years of proven experience working with teens or in mental health education. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet this minimum hiring criteria. Physical Requirements: This position is a hybrid role (some duties may be performed remotely while others require an in-person presence). In-person work is required for training seminars, which typically occur one Sunday afternoon per month. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Able to work well in a busy, dynamic and sometimes noisy environment involving multiple tasks and priorities. Occasional lifting of up to 10-25 lbs. (e.g., office supplies, program materials, snacks).
