About the position

The position involves comprehensive administration of all benefit and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, wellbeing, leave of absence, and 401(k) plan. The role requires developing and launching communication strategies for the company's employee benefit programs to optimize impact and understanding, driving employee engagement and retention. Additionally, the position includes managing the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, coordinating daily benefits processing, auditing and processing invoices for all benefit vendors, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. In terms of payroll administration, the role entails overseeing and processing bi-weekly payroll for multi-state locations, preparing reports by collecting and analyzing data, and monitoring taxation for state and local jurisdictions. The position also requires initiating and monitoring onboarding and offboarding processes, processing employment-related data within HRIS systems, and performing monthly audits related to benefits and payroll. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential, along with maintaining confidentiality regarding all matters, data, and documents.

Responsibilities
• Administration of all benefit and retirement programs including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, wellbeing, leave of absence, and 401(k) plan.

• Develop and launch communication for the company's employee benefit programs to optimize impact and understanding and to drive employee engagement and retention.
,
• Manage the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process including development of plans, employee communications, ensuring completion of employee enrollment and accuracy of records.
,
• Coordinate daily benefits processing including enrollments for new hires and life event changes, Cobra, terminations, and oversee maintenance of employee benefits files.

• Audit and process invoices for all benefit vendors.
,
• Administer, oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state locations, ensuring pay is processed on time and accurately.

• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
,
• Coordinate with managers to ensure missed punches are corrected prior to processing payroll and act as the main point of contact for the timekeeping system.

• Monitor and validate taxation for state and locals for accurate payroll.
,
• Respond to Verification of Employment requests from third parties.
,
• Initiate and monitor the administration of onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

• Process employment-related data within HRIS systems, including new hires and employee status changes.
,
• Prepare and analyze reports related to benefits and payroll for management.
,
• Perform monthly audits and respond to benefit and payroll audit related items.
,
• Assist in the maintenance of the Human Resources content on the company's Intranet.
,
• Ensure compliance with state and federal law and regulation notices.
,
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion regarding all matters, data, and documents.

• Communicate effectively and timely with both internal and external stakeholders.
,
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
,
• 5+ years of experience with benefits or total rewards programs is required.
,
• 5+ years of experience with payroll is preferred.
,
• CPP, CEBS or PHR certification preferred.
,
• Understanding and application of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, FLSA, and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations.

• Proficient with Office Suite software.
,
• Familiar with HRIS technologies; UKG or Workday preferred.
