Payroll & Benefits Administrator (Hybrid)

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will support essential accounting functions, including payroll processing and benefits administration, while ensuring compliance with regulations.ResponsibilitiesAccurately process bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, US, and future international operations) in a timely mannerAdminister employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminationsReconcile payroll and benefits and ensure that all related information is accurately recorded in general ledger, with costs assigned to the appropriate accounts and cost centresMaintain and update employee payroll and benefits data in the HRIS systemEnsure compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements in all operating regionsAssist with payroll-related year-end tasks, including tax forms and reportingMonitor the payroll inbox and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits in a professional and timely mannerCollaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and reportingSupport audits and maintain proper documentation for compliance purposesSkills1-2 years of payroll & benefits administration experience in Canada and US employee base; experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech environments strongly preferredUnderstanding of payroll & accounting concepts and best business practicesFamiliarity with payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions (Canada and US in particular)Experience working with sophisticated HRIS systemsKnowledge of payroll regulations and tax requirements in Canada and the USAbility to deliver accurate, timely work with strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential informationProficiency in MS Excel and payroll softwareEffective communication and problem-solving skillsPayroll certification (e.g., PCP) or working towards certification is an assetPost-secondary education in Accounting, HR, or a related field (preferred)BenefitsComprehensive medical & dental coverage – for all permanent employees – effective as of Day 1, with no waiting period.Work-day flexibility – additionally, we provide 3 personal days per year.Support – for you (and your dependents) overall well-being.Career progression and learning support.Professional membership support.Family building – we provide top up for both maternity leave & adoptive leave.
