Job Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients and guarantors, providing expert financial guidance, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a timely and courteous manner. You will be responsible for obtaining demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information, verifying benefits, and ensuring that all required notices and consent forms are signed. Your exceptional communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities will enable you to provide personalized support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and guarantors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience
Obtain and verify demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information
Answer questions and address concerns regarding financial responsibilities and insurance coverage
Collect patient out-of-pocket responsibility and prepare daily deposits
Provide patient estimates and guide patients to appropriate destinations for services
Obtain pre-certification and authorization, verifying insurance benefits and determining correct filing order
Explain policies, including regulatory and financial consent forms, and secure required signatures
Perform patient discharge functions, including reviewing after-visit summaries and scheduling future appointments

Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
No experience required, but 1 year of related hospital, medical office, or customer service experience preferred
