Patient Accounts Customer Service Specialist

This role involves managing customer inquiries related to billing and payment issues, ensuring accurate documentation and communication within the department. Responsibilities Handling questions and/or concerns regarding billing or payment issues for both hospital and physician services presented by our customers on the phone or in person Possess basic knowledge of policy and processes utilized by the Combined Billing Office Use system programs and edits to efficiently assist customers without transferring or referring to others Responsible for scanning of financial documentation received on accounts to the electronic record and proper indexing of those records Responsible for accurate and timely distribution of mail to appropriate office staff Responsible for the daily reconciliation with our Early Out and Bad Debt vendors on files received or transmitted Troubleshoot and mitigate corrective actions needed to rectify known issues Responsible for working and maintaining work queues associated with the position Lives the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy of the department and Saint Francis Medical Center Constantly works with and maintains restricted or confidential information from many sources within the Medical Center Any and all duties as assigned by Assistant Manager, Manager or Director Skills High School Diploma or equivalent Accounting courses or training Minimum of one (1) year healthcare, finance, business, call center, or customer service experience Benefits Employee Assistance Program Company Overview Saint Francis Healthcare System is guided by our mission to provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ.
