About the position

At Ochsner Health, we are dedicated to serving, healing, leading, educating, and innovating since our inception in 1942. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in every award earned, every record broken, and every patient helped, all thanks to our dedicated employees. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and guests, greeting them courteously whether in person or over the phone. You will initiate the scheduling of appointments and assist in the check-in process for patients, ensuring that accurate identification and demographic data are obtained and verified for the patient's permanent medical record. This is crucial for accurate reimbursement and maintaining the confidentiality of all patient information. Your responsibilities will include point-of-service collections and face-to-face interactions with patients during the registration and admission process. You will verify insurance through electronic means, telephone, or web applications, and work to improve patient satisfaction by consistently representing the company in a professional manner. This position requires a strong ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, and reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities. The job description serves as a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities, and it is not intended to be exhaustive. The role requires you to remain knowledgeable about current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to your responsibilities, ensuring compliance with all such laws and standards.
