Patent Agent - Organic Chemistry
About the position
Established in 1995, Mueting Raasch Group (MRG) is a dynamic intellectual property law firm dedicated to helping innovators protect their ideas. We are seeking a Patent Agent that specializes in organic chemistry or a related scientific field. The Patent Agent will assist clients with intellectual property management and protection, including the preparation and prosecution of high-technology patent applications.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Evaluates the viability of patent requests; completes and files patent applications.
ā¢ Maintains knowledge of scientific, technological, and legal developments.
ā¢ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
ā¢ Superior verbal and written communication skills.
ā¢ Thorough understanding of technology and scientific developments.
ā¢ Thorough understanding of intellectual property law with emphasis on patent prosecution.
ā¢ Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
ā¢ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
ā¢ Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
ā¢ Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
ā¢ Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
ā¢ Ability to function well in a high-paced/volume, and at times, stressful environment.
ā¢ Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in organic chemistry, or a related scientific field.
ā¢ Advanced degree in a science-related field required.
ā¢ Successfully passed the Patent Bar Exam required.
ā¢ Registration to Practice before the USPTO is required.

The salary range reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, relevant skills, training, experience, education, licensure, and/or certifications, as well as other job-related factors. A reasonable estimate for someone hired into this position is $90,000 to $150,000.
