Part-Time US Tax Accountant
Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Part-Time US Tax Accountant who is eager to join our team for the upcoming tax season. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a growing client base and will require direct communication with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Ā Prepare and file individual and business tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.) with a primary focus on federal taxes
Ā Communicate directly with clients to explain tax requirements, provide advice, and gather necessary documents for tax filings
Ā Handle tax preparation for a diverse range of states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws
Ā Ensure that tax returns meet all necessary deadlines and compliance requirements
Ā Stay updated on changes in federal tax laws and state-specific tax requirements
Ā Submit hundreds of tax filings in a timely manner during the tax season
Ā Provide tax planning and strategy advice to clients as needed
Ā Be available to commit and work diligently through the upcoming tax season
Qualifications:
Ā Extensive experience in preparing and filing federal tax returns and solid knowledge of federal tax laws
Ā Proven ability to work with state tax requirements, with willingness to learn and handle any missing state-specific pieces
Ā Demonstrated ability to submit 100+ tax filings in a season
Ā Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and approachable manner
Ā Ability to handle client-facing interactions professionally, especially for the initial 10-20 clients
Ā Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ā Prior experience in tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSeries, or similar) is required
Ā A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for the tax industry, particularly for part-time, seasonal roles
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
Expected hours: 15 Ā 20 per week
