For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The teaching assistants for the Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy Lab will lead their assigned laboratory section and coordinate specific lab activities including: 1) assisting with an orientation at the beginning of the semester to students in the assigned section describing laboratory policies, safety considerations and expectations; 2) prepare the lab prior to the session and ensure that the lab is cleaned at the end of the session; 3) prepare demonstration specimens; 4) in conjunction with the laboratory coordinator, provide instruction to the lab session as a whole or small groups and individuals as needed; 5) help prepare, administer, and clean up lab exams; 6) grade lab assignments and exams; 7) participate in pre-lab meetings each week with other TAs and lab coordinator to review upcoming lab material; 8) perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory coordinator.Requirements: Applicants must have recently completed VBSC/BIOL 421 Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy Lab (or an equivalent course) with a satisfactory grade, and must be available during the scheduled laboratory sessions.The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in all of its forms.
