Our family is in need of a caring and dedicated individual to provide support and assistance to our children, ages 9 and two young boys with autism. As a part-time sitter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, happiness, and development of our children. About Our Family We are a family of five, including Lashae, the mother, who works as a lead supervisor and in the cafeteria at an elementary school. Our children, Janelle, Michael, and Michael, are the center of our universe. Janelle is a bright and talkative 9-year-old, while Michael and Michael have autism and communicate through singing and limited words. Our family also includes an energetic dog who loves to play and be part of the action. Role Snapshot: Start Date: Immediate openings available Position: Part-time Sitter Location: Remote (our home, located near wooded areas) Company: 3 Growing Children Compensation: A competitive salary, with opportunities for additional income Key Responsibilities: Provide safe and engaging transportation for the children to and from school, daycare, and extracurricular activities Assist with toilet training and ensure the children's physical and emotional needs are met Support learning pod activities and educational games to promote cognitive development Establish a bedtime routine and ensure the children get a good night's sleep Engage in activities with the children, such as playing games, reading, and outdoor play Occasionally pick up the children from school and daycare Be available for occasional weekend sittings to allow Lashae to work on cleaning jobs Requirements: Own car: Reliable transportation is essential for this role Special needs experience: Experience working with children with autism or other special needs is highly desirable Comfortable with pets: Our energetic dog is part of the family, and we need someone who is comfortable and willing to interact with them First aid and CPR training: A plus, but not required Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of experience working with children, preferably with special needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Early childhood education or special education training Experience with learning pods and educational activities Knowledge of autism and strategies for supporting individuals with autism First aid and CPR certification Skills and Competencies: Compassion, empathy, and patience Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Ability to engage and interact with children of varying ages and abilities Strong communication and organizational skills Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing schedules and needs Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: As a part-time sitter with our family, you will have the opportunity to: Develop your skills and experience working with children with special needs Participate in training and professional development opportunities Build a rewarding and fulfilling career as a part-time sitter or nanny Enjoy a supportive and collaborative work environment Work Environment and Company Culture: Our home is located near wooded areas, providing a peaceful and natural environment for our children to grow and thrive.
