About the Role As a Part-Time Remote Tutor with Revolution Prep, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic journey of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality online tutoring in a variety of STEM and AP subjects, including algebra I, geometry, and algebra II. You will work closely with families, students, and colleagues to ensure that our students achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Tutor students in a range of academic and test prep subjects, with a focus on STEM and AP subjects (80% of work schedule) Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, providing recommendations for student success (10% of work schedule) Participate in ongoing professional development and subject expansion to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and subject matter expertise (5% of work schedule) Prepare for sessions using Revolution Prep-provided materials, ensuring a high level of quality and engagement (5% of work schedule) Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degrees welcomed) Previous teaching or tutoring experience (desired but not required) Expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects and foreign languages (specifically, Chinese) A commitment to customer service and a passion for delivering exceptional student outcomes A "growth mindset" - unafraid of challenges, adaptable to change, and willing to learn Ability to comfortably provide academic support to students in algebra I, geometry, and algebra II High-speed internet with the ability to connect via ethernet cable, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions Ability to teach consecutive online tutoring sessions while sitting or standing for extended periods, two to six days per week Ability to work during peak tutoring hours, including at least one weekend day Authorized to work in the United States (current residence must also be in the US) Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous: Experience in teaching or tutoring AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Chemistry (may be eligible for a higher starting rate) A proven track record of delivering high-quality online instruction Experience working with students of varying ages and abilities Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues Strong subject matter expertise in STEM and AP subjects Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced online environment A commitment to ongoing professional growth and development Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Revolution Prep, we are committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our team members. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive hourly rate of $25 per hour, as well as a range of benefits and perks, including: A comprehensive benefits package (details available upon request) Opportunities for professional growth and development A dynamic and supportive team environment Access to cutting-edge technology and resources Schedule Requirements As a Part-Time Remote Tutor, you will be required to post at least 16 hours of availability on your calendar each week, within the adjunct prime-time blocks listed below: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time At least 8 hours must be posted on weekends, and tutors must post at least nine months into the future at all times.
