About the Role As a Part-time Remote Intake Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for many individuals seeking behavioral health services. Your role will involve providing crisis support, conducting initial evaluations, and coordinating care for clients. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues, working in a flexible, remote environment. Key Responsibilities Provide crisis support to callers in need and dispatch Mobile Crisis teams as necessary. Conduct initial evaluations of need, triage services according to assessed need, and complete initial psychosocial assessments and treatment plans. Coordinate care for active clients calling in for support from their team members. Screen individuals for BJC Behavioral Health services and provide community referrals as needed. Engage individuals and families to form trusting relationships, gathering accurate information to formulate realistic treatment goals. Demonstrate competency in providing brief evidence-based therapies to adults, children, and families. Work collaboratively within the team and across the service system, assisting team members with difficult cases and building positive working relationships. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you will need: A Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling). 2-5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in behavioral health. Current licensure as an LCSW or LPC in the state of Missouri. Strong technology skills, with the ability to quickly learn our internal communication systems, including myAvatar EMR and our phone system. Experience working with behavioral health clients and providing crisis support. The ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) certification. Knowledge of DMH programming and experience working within a community health center. Familiarity with evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Engagement. Understanding of the principles of a Children's System of Care and Fidelity Wraparound. Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Part-time Remote Intake Specialist, you will need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage individuals and families in a non-threatening, empathetic manner. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess crisis and safety issues. Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses, evidence-based treatments, and the impact of health issues on mental illness. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities. Proficiency in using technology, including Teams, Outlook, and our internal communication systems.
