Part Time Reading Specialist
CSAAC is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1979 providing services to individuals with autism. Our mission is to enable individuals with autism to achieve their highest potential and contribute as confident members of their community.
CSAAC is looking for a part time, permanent Reading Specialist!
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 20 hours a week.
Compensation: $25.00- $30.00 hourly
About the Role:
Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Reading Specialist will identify and implement research-based interventions to address the needs of identified students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides direct reading instruction to identified students in individual and/or small group sessions
• Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward achievement of students' IEP goals
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons using formal and informal assessment data
• Administers and/or interprets specific diagnostic surveys and curriculum-based assessment measures of reading behavior
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct IEP data
• Completes quarterly progress reports on each student served
• Collaborates and/or attends IEP meetings for students served
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Maryland certification as a Reading Specialist or ability to attain certification
• 3 years experience as a Reading Specialist
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions
• Experience with special education students
• Experience with autistic or developmentally delayed students (preferred)
